
The town of Schaller was first platted out and filed with the Sac County Court House on June 18, 1882. In the fall of 1882, the Blair Town and Lot Company sold lots. The business lots were sold by auction. A group of 32 men, on April 25, 1883, file a petition for the incorporation of the town of Schaller.
The Honorable Phil Schaller, after whom the town of Schaller was named, was born in Woerth, Alsace, France, January 6, 1838, to Christian and Barbe Beyel Schaller.
